In search of direction, I stepped into some of the most challenging roles out there. What I found along the way shaped how I lead and how I serve.
When I look back at my early years, the biggest challenge wasn’t a lack of ambition—it was a lack of guidance. There was no one to help me navigate those critical years, to ask what I wanted to do, to talk through my options, or to explain the upside and downside of each path. My mom did everything she could to provide stability, and her patience taught me what strength looked like. Still, I felt like I was trying to build a future without the tools to do it. I was searching for direction.
That search led me to the Marine Corps right out of high school. It was an environment that demanded structure, accountability, and constant growth. My friend and I spoke to recruiters from different branches, but the Marines stood out. They didn’t promise perks—they promised transformation. “We’ll make you a Marine,” they said. That was enough. I enlisted before graduation and shipped out to boot camp in July 2008.
Those five years gave me the foundation I’d been missing. It wasn’t easy, but it pushed me to grow in ways I couldn’t have on my own. I learned what honor, courage, and commitment really meant. When my contract ended, I left proud of what I had done and clearer on who I was.
After the military, I joined the West Palm Beach Police Department. Law enforcement brought a different kind of challenge—making decisions under pressure, dealing with people in crisis, and learning how to de-escalate situations with words, not force. I’ll never forget arresting someone on a serious charge and having him thank me at the jail. He wasn’t thankful for the arrest. He was thankful for the way I treated him. It’s not just what you do, but how you do it that matters. When you treat people with respect, it makes a difference.
I had strong mentors in both the military and law enforcement who gave real-time feedback and helped me find direction. That foundation gave me the confidence to take full ownership of my future. I wasn’t just looking for structure anymore. I was ready to create it for myself.
That’s what led me to real estate. I saw it as an opportunity to take the discipline, communication, service, and accountability and apply them to building my own business. My wife, Ari, was already in the business, and watching how she worked inspired me to take the leap in 2019. What drew me in was how the field blends creativity and strategy, combining architecture and design with contracts, data, and negotiation. I love digging into market trends, zoning, and analyzing property values to find the best deals. For me, real estate is like a puzzle, and I enjoy putting the pieces together.
Today, I’m part of the Costello Deitz Group, focusing on serving families from Palm Beach to Jupiter. In addition to helping our community expertly navigate the
process or buying or selling, we also manage projects from concept to completion, handling everything from zoning research and design input to sourcing off-market opportunities for investors. I like being a true partner for my clients, solving problems fast, thinking quick on my feet, and helping make tough decisions easier.
Now, having recently become a father, my purpose goes even deeper. I think a lot about how to be the kind of man my son, Sterling, can count on. Someone who leads with integrity, shows up consistently, and lives by example. I want to be a role model he can look to as he finds his own path one day. I’m building a life with intention, shaped by everything I’ve learned and guided by the values I want to pass on.
Clients often come to me because they want more than a transactional agent. In my work with high-end spec development, I stay involved from start to finish. That includes handling zoning research, reviewing plans, sourcing off-market properties, and navigating approvals with the city. Whether I am advising a developer or helping a homeowner, the focus is always on delivering solutions that move projects forward.
Much of the value I bring comes from how I operate day to day. Being available, solving problems quickly, and managing details most agents overlook has become my standard. That can mean coordinating with surveyors and architects, reviewing contracts, or handling logistics for clients who are out of town. When something needs to get done, I find a way to get it done right!
The goal is to make the experience feel seamless for you. Every decision and interaction matters, and I treat each one with the same level of care. Clear communication, strong relationships, and consistent follow-through are what I promise every time you work with me.
Sincerely,
